It is very important to begin contributing to a 401k or to an IRA as soon as you can.  Especially if your employer will contribute as well.  If you don’t take advantage of this, you are leaving money on the table.  Speak with your HR department at work and ask to have 3% or 6% taken from your pay each pay period.  Remember you cannot contribute to an IRA if you are not working
